--Apple-Mail=_428FEFA0-CE9E-41EF-98E6-D472C65CDE10 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Content-Type: text/plain; charset=windows-1252 I am still waiting for someone to let us know what kind of squids you = are observing. I think all of the reports last year were of long-finned = squids, Loligo, alias Peale=92s squids =97 please check and see if the = mantle fins are longer than half the length of the mantle. If shorter = than that, it=92s Illex, the boreal or short-finned squid, the one from = which the Squid Jigging Grounds song came (Newfoundland?). Cheers and thanks from Jim in Wolfville. So far my wife and I have found only 4 bunches of egg-sacs of = long-finned squids on upper Evangeline Beach this year.
