Hello everyone; While I was away from home for a couple of weeks a nest has appeared in a maple tree on my property. It's located about 12 ft off the ground and at the end of a large branch, at least 15 ft from the trunk. The birds might have fledged, as there seems to be no activity. The nest is about 8 in. in diameter, and consists of dry twigs, birch bark, and from below seems to be lined with grass or hay. I haven't seen it from above. The nest doesn't seem to be compact like a robin's nest, and there doesn't seem to be any mud. Blue Jay/ Mourning Dove? any ideas? Billy
