For the previous 6 =C2=A0years I visited Burntcoat head 6 - 10 times a year=
s Apr - Oct. Surprisingly the mud flats at low tide are extremely empty. Th=
ere are sometimes small isolated flocks of one or two dozen but no signific=
ant numbers. Semipalmated Sandpipers, Semipalmated Plovers=C2=A0,=C2=A0Dowi=
tchers with the odd willet and spotted sandpiper would cover the shorebirds=
 I have seen there.=C2=A0
The shoreline closer to Noel is usually more productive (still no huge volu=
mes) as it is grassier and has a couple river/streams entering the bay.

>I'm giving a few of my shorebird photos to the Municipality of East Hants =
for a panel about the animals that can be found in or near the waters of th=
e Bay of Fundy at Burntcoat. They mention shorebirds, but only talk about S=
emipalmated Plovers and Least Sandpipers. I've told her that there are like=
ly orders of magnitude more Semipalmated Sandpipers than both of those ment=
ioned on the panel. I just wanted to know if anyone has any information on =
the shorebirds during their southward migration at Burntcoat Head? Thanks.
