The closest thing I know to it is when ospreys are calling to each other while wheeling high up. The sounds I have been hearing, first thought to be ospreys, are definitely coming from dense treetops. I look hard, but don't see movement or flight in or out. The cries and their rhythm are similar to ospreys', but a little more closely spaced and a little less bell-like. Rather loud for young calling to their parents unless they are large birds. Any clues from this vague description? Could it be raccoons? Neighbourhood is central Dartmouth near Sullivan's pond.
