And a great day it was!=20 Stripers were not very plentiful - 3 in all but that's fishing.=20 Sturgeon made up for them. 10 - 12 in all between 1 m and 2 m in = length.=20 A 2 m sturgeon is an impressive fish. I always wondered when I saw them = jump=20 if they were really sturgeon - now I know for sure. Very interesting.=20 There was a lot of smaller fish, Shad, Gaspereaux, Herring, Mackerel, = Tommy Cods=20 Smelts and silversides. On the flat side there was Flounders and Skates. = Small squid were plentiful, about the size of my finger or a little = bigger with big eyes.=20 I was told there was quite a few big ones earlier but none just now.=20 For birds there was a good flock of gulls, Eagles and Herons. I didn't = review=20 the birds for species.
