There is a nice report in the current issue of The Coast newspaper from someone who, while sitting on a Dartmouth waterfront deck, observed three deer swimming "with determination" for downtown Halifax. The observer was very concerned with what would happen to the deer once they reached the seawalls on the Halifax shore, with nowhere to haul out. But a passing boater managed to "turn them around and sent them swimming back to the Dartmouth train tracks where there's lots of green space."
