On July 1st I went to Waterside Beach Provincial Park in Pictou County. I was happy to see a Bank Swallow Colony. The Bank Swallows are nesting in the side of a hill near the beach. I conservatively estimate 30 Bank Swallows are there. I also saw 10 Great Blue Herons! That’s the most I’ve ever seen in one location. Here’s a link to my E-bird report which includes a photo of the Bank Swallows. http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S24119228 Chris Peters
