Interesting as always. I see that Yellow warblers are down, but at least ar=
ound here there seem to be more than ever on territory. That suggests to me=
that migration for this species has already peaked. I wonder if there is a=
good way of comparing your nocturnal call numbers with ebird numbers from =
say 2 weeks ago, or are the numbers too small?

Hi All,

Nocturnal migration was very light this week, less than half the number of =
calls recorded during the same period in 2013 at the same location. Compare=
d to the results posted here for last week, sparrows were down from 145 to =
21 calls, shorebirds from 147 to 3 calls, and warblers were up from 40 to 7=
1 calls. Swainson=E2=80=99s Thrush had still not arrived. As a result there=
were only 2 thrush calls recorded; one Hermit Thrush and one Veery. Eleven=
species of warblers were recorded with Magnolia (26 calls) and Black-and-W=
hite (11 calls) being the most common. =C2=A0Yellow Warblers were conspicuo=
usly lower than for the same period in 2013 (6 calls down from 21 calls). A=
summary of calls recorded for the week along with an estimate of the numbe=
r of individual birds is presented below.
