I'll comment further on my own posting. Looking at John Kearney's listing =
of birds arriving between May 9-15=2C it is possible that the white-throate=
d sparrow is later arriving than usual. =20

Hi all:
=20
Over the winter white-throated sparrows were abundant. I've almost complet=
ed the stats for the North American Migration count for Lunenburg County. =
One field participant to report yet. On my route numbers of white-throated=
sparrows were very low. Overall from everyone else who participated numbe=
rs were way down. I've had some emails also from people about why no white=
-throated sparrows are being seen. In my travels out birding I've noticed =
few of these birds about. What is the concensus across the province on thi=
s. I would be most interested to see if this species has gone to other cou=
nties in numbers for nesting denoting the reason for few about in Lunenburg=
County or if this might be a province wide trend. =20
=20
Also=2C of concern to me was the low number of boreal chickadees with only =
one and extremely low numbers of house sparrows. I haven't taken the time =
to see if there are trends from previous years on other species yet. =20
