Index of Subjects
Index of Subjects I remember seeing a flock on the River Road along the Medway, in February, 2010 and in the summer of 2012, and have a similar suspicion. Good to know that some seem to be hanging around. The changes in avifaunal makeup over the past generation are striking, and little scary. It's nice to see cardinals and turkey vultures, but that's outweighed in my mind by concern for what happened to previously common species and why. -----Original Message----- From: naturens-owner@chebucto.ns.ca [mailto:naturens-owner@chebucto.ns.ca] On Behalf Of Nancy P Dowd Sent: May 6, 2015 7:26 AM To: naturens@chebucto.ns.ca Subject: [NatureNS] Evening Grosbeaks As usual I have Evening Grosbeaks in E Dalhousie, Kings Co. I have always thought of some Grosbeaks and other finches as appearing sporadically, often moving about widely to tap on good food sources. But the Dalhousie Evening Grosbeaks seem to be permanent. I always encounter them somewhere in this area no matter what season- in forested areas with no feeders around. Seems like there is a resident population here that travels only within a small radius.
