Index of Subjects This evening after a run to town we stopped by the back of the Meadow Pond (behind the call center roughly, where the helicopter pad is). We had checked the downtown parking lot along the river and driven up along the Mersey over the second Bridge to route 8 and back down to find no swallows feeding in the usual places. Of course it could be as simple as the time of day and the angle of to the sun. At the meadow pond it was alive with Swallows, both Tree and Barn, Red-winged black birds and a few other tiny types that I could not see. So heartening!! Blackflies are now out in force and biting. I don't know I have even been so happy to see flying stuff. One thing I wonder about. These new lights the highways and parking lots are putting up......is there a space in them for the swallows to nest?
