Thank for this reminder Ian,=C2=A0I=C2=A0hope more people will use ebird as=
 it is a great tool for local birders and travellers alike. Many=C2=A0birde=
rs have target species that they are looking to get. For me this winter=C2=
=A0it was the Cardinal=C2=A0and the Harlequin Duck, I just could not find t=
hem. There were reports of them on nature ns but not enough on ebird which =
can help pinpoint the location. When I travel I like looking at the birds s=
een in the area I am going in the previous weeks so I have an idea where to=
 go and what I can see.=C2=A0Remember a common species for us can be a life=
r for someone from another country. =C2=A0I know it takes a little more tim=
e and while in the field you have to make a list for seperate locations but=
 there are benefits for all of us.=C2=A0=C2=A0For those of us who do use eb=
ird remember to use the general comments field to describe the type of bird=
ing....driving, walking, quick stop a Sullivans pond to see the rarity, or =
the direction walking on a trail, weather or tidal information can also be =
useful.=C2=A0Happy Birding=C2=A0Rob Woods=C2=A0=C2=A0A life is like a garde=
n. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. (Leonar=
d Nimoy)

 Subject: [NatureNS] eBird Hotspots

I recently went through my eBird account, and cleaned up some of the locati=
ons.=20

I realized that many of the places I regularly walk, although publicly acce=
ssible are not listed on eBird as HotSpots.=20

This got me wondering what defines an eBird hotspot. See below:

spot-
