On the way home from town this evening, I saw a flock of geese approaching
the road. Three looked ligher. Our paths crossed just east of Broad Brook
and yup three snow geese were bringing up the rear of the Canada goose
flock. They were a little smaller and chunkier and the colours were
diagnostic. A very fast glance told me the facial profiles didn't conform
to Ross's geese. J!

A couple of days ago, as I was hurriedly getting into the car, I heard a
familiar mewing from the trees, very characteristic of yellow-bellied
sapsuckers. Didn't have time to investigate further, but spring visits are
not unusual.

Location of all sightings is just f=south of Yarmouth.
