This is a very insightful paper from 2007 by Barclay et al, regarding turbines bats and birds.. a comprehensive summary of data at the time .

Quite readable, and points to clear patternsregarding to effect on migrating bats and birds - specifically relating to nacelle heights

If the prospect of downloading and reading a large book is daunting, you
should know that the web site (www.withouthotair.com) also has a very
readable 10-page synopsis of the book, with lots of visual material
included.
