I got to see an American woodcock at around 23:00 this evening=2C but not t=
he way I wanted to. It was beside the road along Back Harbour Lunenburg. =
I saw it and slowed up=2C but it flew up and grazed off the windshield of m=
y car. I think it likely will be only stunned as it hit the windshield on =
an angle. Anyhow=2C I hope that is the case.
=20
A good day with fox sparrows at multiple locations. I got photos of the pa=
rtially white blue jay in Riverport and while at the Keneficks a fox sparro=
w showed up. Another was singing repeatedly at Rose Bay. I saw others lat=
er in the day at the Garden Lots location. Kevin Lantz spotted a great blu=
e heron in Lunenburg and told me about a gadwall there=2C which I got to se=
e. =20
He also said that one of the killdeer was still at Lilydale and I got to se=
e it. I also had red-winged blackbirds and common grackles at multiple loc=
ations. No sign of the osprey at Lilydale though=2C so maybe it was just p=
assing through. I also did not see the thrasher today. Kevin had both Boh=
emian and cedar waxwings at Back Harbour Lunenburg. =20
