Yes, flowering before our native shrubs to give us some hope. Maybe
Hamamelis X intermedia, garden hybrid of some asian species (H. mollis and
H. japonica). Ours flowers in late fall.
The hazel, Corylus cornuta, is still not showing but it will open up its
purple flowers and its catkins if you bring it on in as will the red maple
which looks really pretty in jars, male trees and females. Nick
