Usually, there are = one or two adults on or near the nest behind the Firehall. The nest was = almost destroyed in a wind storm, but they have spent much of the Winter = rebuilding it. There are one or two Imm. B Eagle who hang around the area but we have = only seen one in the nest once before. I would say that the adult pair = is going to try again once again this year. I will keep you informed. Another gorgeous sunny windless day to check three bald eagle nests = for occupancy: - Lower Canard Road - an adult eagle was in the nest and very = difficult to see (sitting tightly in incubation position, and a second = adult (male?) was perched on the top of a nearby tree; - Scots=92 Bay, Huntley Road - when I arrived I spotted an eagle, but = clearly not an adult, perched in the tree close to the nest =97 soon it = flew the short distance to the nest, landed, and proceeded to rearrange = existing twigs in the nest =97 but this eagle was definitely not an = adult =97 it had brown markings on the face in the =93osprey=94 pattern, = thus was perhaps 3.5 years old or older (the head was not yet mostly = white) =97 another eagle, a younger immature bird that was mostly brown, = was perched not far away in a tree-top; - Blomidon, top of cliff above water =97 an adult eagle was sitting = tightly in the nest. Cheers from Jim in Wolfville =97 HAPPY SPRING!? _______________________________________________ Nature mailing list Nature@blomidonnaturalists.ca = http://blomidonnaturalists.ca/mailman/listinfo/nature_blomidonnaturalists= .ca ------=_NextPart_000_0167_01D06733.AB632960 Content-Type: text/html; charset="Windows-1252" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <HTML><HEAD> <META content=3D"text/html charset=3Dwindows-1252" = http-equiv=3DContent-Type></HEAD> <BODY=20 style=3D"WORD-WRAP: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; = -webkit-line-break: after-white-space"=20 dir=3Dltr> <DIV dir=3Dltr> <DIV style=3D"FONT-SIZE: 14pt; FONT-FAMILY: 'Georgia'; COLOR: #000000"> <DIV><FONT size=3D4>We observe the Scots Bay nest just about everyday. = Usually,=20 there are one or two adults on or near the nest behind the Firehall.
