Good point about the hazards to pets. Sounds like a issue that needs a re=
asonable discussion among pet-owners and trappers, in order to identify a m=
utually-acceptable solution.

Considering traps can be anywhere and everywhere including illegally on the=
property of unsuspecting property owners and mere meters from well-trodden=
public trails (search =E2=80=9Cno traps on trails=E2=80=9D for many exampl=
es of this problem), you=E2=80=99re saying family pets shouldn=E2=80=99t be=
in the woods. I think it would make far more sense to ban lethal traps. A=
nd we=E2=80=99re heading in the direction at a donkey-slow pace.

Well Keith

Family pets shouldn't be where trappers can catch them.

Trappers are definitely helping out the birds if they do find one in a snar=
e.

Enjoy the winter

Predators like Bobcats always produce more young than the range can carry K=
eith.

Every few winters a harsh one will come along and thin out the population. =

Natures way of ensure the survival of the species.

Trappers help Nature out by harvesting the surplus before the harsh weather=
 arrives.

Keeps the population numbers steady over a period of time.

Same with deer and lots of other animals. Mice love it though and

make love in safety all winter!

Enjoy the winter
