And I also think both ospreys and rough legged hawks have similar flight 
patterns of hovering in the air...

Regarding the “Osprey” reported at Hartlen point:  There are two 
Rough-legged Hawks hunting routinely over the golf course and marsh grass 
beside the beach.  Maybe they could be mistaken for osprey as they are quite 
white under wing.  There is also one immature Bald Eagle that I have seen 
several times – once when he harassed one of the Rough-legged Hawks as he 
was passing by.  The eagle is quite dark though so I think the RL Hawks 
would be easier to ID as Osprey.  One other possibility - there are were two 
Northern Harriers in hunting the beach but not likely to be confused with 
Osprey.  Haven’t seen them for a week or two though.
