This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --Boundary_(ID_7DKTW7y/AUER2uYxguESzA) Content-type: text/plain; CHARSET=US-ASCII Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT Content-disposition: inline After failing to locate the Common Gull around Tacoma Drive Dartmouth after work today, I went to Sullivans Pond and spotted a different individual there around 4 p.m.. It was perhaps the gull observed by Jim Edsel and mentioned on his weekend posting : http://bernieb.smugmug.com/Other/Gullsterns/849678_JbrFnG#!i=3897299578&k=nPqwwcN&lb=1&s=O In regards to the identification of adult Common Gulls, one of the usual characteristics to help distinguish them from our own adult Ring-billed Gulls is that they tend to have very dark eyes rather than a typical adult Ring-bills pale iris. Every once in a long while though I come across an adult Ring-billed Gull who breaks the rules, and I checked this individual from Sunday to make sure both eyes were dark since some can have one off color from injury : http://bernieb.smugmug.com/Other/Gullsterns/849678_JbrFnG#!i=3897459952&k=ngZHdXz&lb=1&s=O Bernard Burke Dartmouth --Boundary_(ID_7DKTW7y/AUER2uYxguESzA) Content-type: text/html; CHARSET=US-ASCII Content-transfer-encoding: quoted-printable Content-disposition: inline =3CDIV=3EAfter failing to locate=26nbsp=3Bthe Common=26nbsp=3BGull =26nb= sp=3Baround Tacoma Drive Dartmouth after work today=2C I went to Sulliva= ns Pond and spotted a different individual there around 4 p=2Em=2E=2E It= was=26nbsp=3Bperhaps the=26nbsp=3Bgull=26nbsp=3Bobserved by Jim Edsel a= nd mentioned on his weekend posting =3A=3C/DIV=3E=3CDIV=3E=26nbsp=3B=3C/= DIV=3E=3CDIV=3E=3CA href=3D=22http=3A//bernieb=2Esmugmug=2Ecom/Other/Gul= lsterns/849678=5FJbrFnG=23!i=3D3897299578=26amp=3Bk=3DnPqwwcN=26amp=3Blb= =3D1=26amp=3Bs=3DO=22=3Ehttp=3A//bernieb=2Esmugmug=2Ecom/Other/Gullstern= s/849678=5FJbrFnG=23!i=3D3897299578=26amp=3Bk=3DnPqwwcN=26amp=3Blb=3D1=26= amp=3Bs=3DO=3C/A=3E=3C/DIV=3E=3CDIV=3E=26nbsp=3B=3C/DIV=3E=3CDIV=3EIn re= gards to the identification of adult Common Gulls=2C one of the=26nbsp=3B= usual characteristics to help distinguish them from our own adult Ring-b= illed Gulls is that they tend to have very dark eyes rather than a typic= al adult Ring-bills pale iris=2E Every once in a long while though I com= e across an adult Ring-billed Gull who breaks the rules=2C and I checked= this individual=26nbsp=3Bfrom Sunday to make sure both eyes were dark s= ince some can have one off color from injury =3A=3C/DIV=3E=3CDIV=3E=26nb= sp=3B=3C/DIV=3E=3CDIV=3E=3CA href=3D=22http=3A//bernieb=2Esmugmug=2Ecom/= Other/Gullsterns/849678=5FJbrFnG=23!i=3D3897459952=26amp=3Bk=3DngZHdXz=26= amp=3Blb=3D1=26amp=3Bs=3DO=22=3Ehttp=3A//bernieb=2Esmugmug=2Ecom/Other/G= ullsterns/849678=5FJbrFnG=23!i=3D3897459952=26amp=3Bk=3DngZHdXz=26amp=3B= lb=3D1=26amp=3Bs=3DO=3C/A=3E=3C/DIV=3E=3CDIV=3E=26nbsp=3B=3C/DIV=3E=3CDI= V=3EBernard Burke=3C/DIV=3E=3CDIV=3EDartmouth=3C/DIV=3E=3CDIV=3E=26nbsp=3B= =3C/DIV=3E --Boundary_(ID_7DKTW7y/AUER2uYxguESzA)--
