This morning we watched a Little Gull feeding near several Herring Gulls and being closely shadowed by the latter. This was on the mudflats at the Dublin Wharf, alongside the paved road. The red legs, black bill and head markings were all consistent with this species and viewed through a telescope at close range (~40'). A 2nd winter bird, as shown in Sibley's, most closely matched this individual. It fed much like some shorebirds, frequently pecking at the mud and turning. Tiny when viewed so close to the large Gulls and Black Ducks nearby. First one I have ever seen. Nancy
