January 17th at 7:30 PM, Room AT101 in the Atrium Building, Saint Mary's University All Welcome! This Friday=92s meeting will have a joint presentation by Roy Bishop and ou= r new president Paul Gray celebrating the 60th Anniversary of our Halifax C= entre! We will be taken on the =93Rough Guide=94 illustrated tour highlight= ing the true events and personalities in our first 60 years. With some thro= wback photos of some of long term members there should be a few good chuckl= es for all as well as many interesting facts about our history and members. Dave Chapman will also demonstrate "The Frugal Astronomer's Image-Stabilizi= ng Binoculars" Sean Dzafovic will provide a What=92s Up of the January/February night sky = which also references to the Explore the Universe Program. We will also be treated to a number of recent images our members have taken= of Comet Lovejoy, the Moon and the Mercury and Venus conjunction. And, of course, following the presentations =96 special celebration refresh= ments, a cake! (prepared by our two youngest supernova hunters) and social= time!
