Hi All

Re: the house sparrows seen in the multi-flora bush, I=E2=80=99d like to =
again mention that, recently (Sunday Nov.16 (as I reported)) this is the =
first time I have seen these birds in that location for,maybe, three to =
four years.
Does that accord with other people=E2=80=99s figuring?
My presence in Finlay Park is not exhaustive by any means, so =
I=E2=80=99m very curious.
The house sparrows used to have a large presence in my backyard which is =
only a few blocks away; yet still I have had no sign of them.
I realize that the house sparrows have been seen in the less densely =
settled areas over the past years. Are they now getting more numerous in =
those areas also?

This afternoon, I, also was in the same areas as you, Dennis.
I saw only 4 Am. Widgeons, very few Mallards and no Black Ducks, nor any =
American Coots. I did, however, see the muskrat swimming with some kind =
of vegetation in its mouth. There appears to be an opening in the wooden =
breakwater, that surrounds the pond, that it can swim into.
In the multi-flora rose bush, by Banook Canoe Club, I also saw the House =
Sparrows, as well as one lone American Robin.
Just to note, also, the resident Greylag Geese, were successfully moved =
to Hope For Wildlife's facilities yesterday, where they will spend the =
winter.=20
Have met the friendly cat too. His name is 'Pekoe'.
The American Coot that has been present, for the last couple of weeks, =
in the area, close to the bridge between Lake Banook & Lake Micmac is =
still present and looks healthy and vigorous.=20

  Yesterday (Nov 25) Afternoon at about 15:00 I found 1 male Eurasian =
Widgeon
with 12 American Widgeon at Sullivan"s Pond. Also saw 2 Am Coot with the =

usual Mallard and Black Ducks.
Across the road in Findlay Park there was a flock of 15 - 20 House =
Sparrows in the
multiflora rose bush next to the Banook Boat Club.
  For mammals, there was one muskrat and a very friendly ginger cat.

  The previous day, Nov 24, At Bisset Lake, Cole Harbour, there were 11 =
Am Coot,
at least 150 Lesser Scaup, 15 Bufflehead, 5 Ring Neck ducks, and 4 very =
distant
Common Mergansers. These were seen from the parking lot at the north end =
of=20
the lake and from behind Astral Drive School on the west side of the =
lake.
