Index of Subjects --001a1134b96415138d0507a02e65 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable I have the Brome Squirrel Buster Plus at my cottage, which I ordered from the For the Birds store in Chester. They don't have it listed on their web site at the moment. It effectively deters squirrels and Bluejay sized birds. The Chickadees and other small birds will empty the 3lb feeder in about 2 days. However it was expensive for a bird feeder, $150 taxes in, with the optional Weather Guard and Pole Mount. I think it is worth it for what I want. I use it hanging ten feet in the air from a horizontal pole from the roof of the cottage, after a bear got to it when I had it mounted on a vertical pole. With the optional Weather Guard ( the large round plastic roof ) it keeps the red squirrels away completely. They can get to the top of the feeder but can't get past the Weather Guard and just slide right off it. It has been up for about a year now. The Blue Jays can get on it, but with the spring tension for the perch set at the lowest setting, they can only barely get a few seeds. It the winter sometimes if might ice up, but the top and bootem are metal so the squirrels cannot chew on them. The following link should be to a 2 1/2 minute HyperLapse video ( 15 minutes at 6x ) , which shows, after 2 minutes of a swarm of Chickadees, a Bluejay attempting to get some seeds. You can see how the perch drops down over the doors, closing the seed ports when the heavy Bluejay lands on it. iPad Hyperlapse Feeder Video <https://www.dropbox.com/s/eab7d7fhcn5zfmh/2014-11-10%2009.37.08.mov?dl=3D0= > Before I got this feeder, the Bluejays would just empty out the feeders in an hour, stuffing themselves and just shoveling the seeds out to find that one perfect seed.
