Index of Subjects Hi Chris, We can have BEKI all year long and I would think they could be found there any time as long as it wasn't frozen over. Here is an eBird NS species map showing Nov-Dec sightings of BEKI for the last 10 years. Of course most sightings are not in eBird (but that is changing). http://ebird.org/ebird/map/belkin1?neg=true&env.minX=-70.06688810000003&env. minY=42.95619548799626&env.maxX=-56.00438810000003&env.maxY=47.6318729033140 54&zh=true&gp=false&ev=Z&mr=on&bmo=11&emo=12&yr=last10&byr=2004&eyr=2014 Keith Lowe -----Original Message----- From: naturens-owner@chebucto.ns.ca [mailto:naturens-owner@chebucto.ns.ca] On Behalf Of Christopher Sent: Sunday, November 02, 2014 6:05 PM To: naturens@chebucto.ns.ca Subject: [NatureNS] Possible Belted Kingfisher - Miner's Marsh Hi Everyone, I was at Miner's Marsh (November 2nd) this afternoon. As I crossed the bridge to enter the marsh I heard a loud chattering. My first thought was "Belted Kingfisher". This chattering lasted about three seconds and wasn't repeated. Would a Belted Kingfisher be probable right now at this location? I'd especially like to hear from people that bird this marsh frequently. Have you heard a Belted Kingfisher recently? Any other ideas anyone? Chris Peters
