This is a multipart message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_0007_01CFE7E4.4B96D690 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hi All, The intensity of nocturnal migration this week was about the same as the week before with a total of 262 night flight calls. However, thrushes were even more dominant than before, accounting for 43% of all calls. The flight call of the Hermit Thrush was the most common call of the week with 72. Second was the American Robin with 40 calls. Typically very few robins are heard at night compared with the numbers seen immediately after sunrise in dawn re-orientation. In northern and eastern Nova Scotia, American Robins in dawn re-orientation during the autumn are flying with a heading between northwest and northeast under virtually all conditions. The most common sparrow this week was Savannah Sparrow with 31 flight calls and the most common warbler was Blackpoll Warbler with 5 calls. Sparrows accounted for 35% of calls and warblers for 6%. No rare or uncommon birds were seen. A summary list follows.
