Along Sandy Cove Road I heard a = Philadelphia/Red-eyed Vireo singing brightly. I don't know of anyone = that can reliably separate these species by song alone. The slow pace of = the song and high pitch suggests Philadelphia Vireo as does the time of = year but these points are not diagnostic. ____________________________________________________________________ Hans Toom Portuguese Cove, Nova Scotia, Canada http://www.hanstoom.com http://www.hanstoom.com/blog ------=_NextPart_000_0053_01CFE26F.7A0EA0E0 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META content=3D"text/html; charset=3Diso-8859-1" = http-equiv=3DContent-Type> <META name=3DGENERATOR content=3D"MSHTML 8.00.6001.23588"> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=3D#ffffff> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV style=3D"FONT: 10pt arial">----- Original Message -----=20 <DIV style=3D"BACKGROUND: #e4e4e4; font-color: black"><B>From:</B> <A=20 title=3Dhtoom@hfx.eastlink.ca href=3D"mailto:htoom@hfx.eastlink.ca">Hans = Toom</A>=20 </DIV> <DIV><B>To:</B> <A title=3DNS-RBA@yahoogroups.com=20 href=3D"mailto:NS-RBA@yahoogroups.com">NS-RBA</A> </DIV> <DIV><B>Sent:</B> Tuesday, October 07, 2014 8:44 PM</DIV> <DIV><B>Subject:</B> Orange-crowned Warbler and Philadelphia/Red-eyed=20 Vireo</DIV></DIV> <DIV><BR></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=3D2 face=3DArial>This morning at Duncan's Cove there was = an=20 <STRONG>Orange-crowned Warbler</STRONG> in with a bunch of = <STRONG>Black-capped=20 Chickadees</STRONG>.
