Speaking of birds, I just got this on FB from a friend in Texas:

Seeing something unusual now in Corpus Christi - cold front is almost
here, rain is starting, and all of a sudden there are chimney swifts
everywhere! Hundreds, flying low, flying into oak tree out back
(feeding, I guess?) and they keep doing flyovers of our chimney, as if
they are thinking of roosting with us tonight. Hummingbirds busily
feeding away.
