It was with the Semipalmated and Least Sandpipers, the numbers of which seem to be greatly reduced following two days of strong N winds. The Knot was very calm and never flushed. The incoming tide moved it towards me to some degree. This set of four photos is exactly as it came off the camera, as my edit function in iPhoto seems to have failed. Note the "breast washed with pinkish buff when fresh" per O'Brien, Crossley & Karlson. http://rickwhitman.smugmug.com/Nature/Birds-July-September-2014/42836282_8ktTXp#!i=3500515802&k=XBN8bkZ Rick Whitman --089e0158c74e807a390501f5ae82 Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <div dir=3D"ltr">There was one juvenile Red Knot at East Point, N.
