He had a green hat - a really bright shade = never saw that shade before or since. The many blackflies wanted to land on his hat. They were a couple of cms deep at times but they never bothered attacking flesh - a funny hat it was. That night after he took a little of my medicine he starting telling war stories. I wish I had of had a recorder - it would have made a good book.
