Thanks, John. We have been watching ours a bit today. I can=92t tell =
what stage they are at, but they are probably feeding young now. The =
nest is at too high a height for us to examine it, and of course we =
don=92t wish to disturb them at all. Cheers from Jim in Wolfville

for other reasons. I haven't seen them for about 3 days, but prior to =
that they reacted to me every time I came outside. They would fly =
quickly from the maple where they appeared to be nesting and sit up in a =
nearby birch and call in an agitated manner until I moved off. They were =
doing that for more than 2 weeks. The maple is ideally situated for =
them, directly over my fruit bushes. They and the cardinal pair seem to =
have taken a liking to the new Haskaps and I only got to try a couple =
before they were stripped. Now it is the blueberries,, I just had to =
resort to a bird net to ensure that I can get a few. With the deer =
constantly stripping the vegetables I may have to give up gardening.

were just sitting on our front porch and couldn=92t help noticing small =
non-sparrows going into and out of a planted tall, cylindrical, =
coniferous cedar? bush about three metros up. It took us awhile to =
discover that these were cedar waxwings that were very probably in some =
early? stage of nesting there. Cedar waxwings along with goldfinches =
are known for nesting very late in summer =97 has anyone else seen =
waxwings nesting this year yet?
