My two cents worth=3B I don't believe this is one of our native "trees".
It doesn't fit with my "Native Trees of Canada" illustrations for our
Mountain Ashes or Staghorn Sumac. I suspect it is a shrub=2C possibly
introduced.

How big was the plant?

Most likely alternate leaves (weak memory)=2C fuzzy on both sides=2C no tho=
rns.
Definitely not ash or elderberry.
Somewhat reminding of mountain ash.

though. Where was it in the park?

I found a small tree / shrub in Point Pleasant Park=2C Halifax.
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/31301732/P1270741.JPG
The leaf looks superficial like a Sorbus=2C but at a closer look=2C
the teeth of the leaflets are much deeper and have a double
tip. This must be some introduced species.

Any suggestions?
Many thanks=2C
