Jeanette Denton and George Garron both contacted me this evening to tell me=
of a Black Skimmer seen near Southern Point on Brier Island this afternoon=
. This is only the fifth occurrence of Skimmers on the island.
So far, only 3 reports of Skimmers: at Mavillette; near Yarmouth; and on Br=
ier Island. This is pretty much the region that "Arthur" came ashore, and i=
s consistent with Skimmers riding along in the quieter "eye" of the cycloni=
c circulation as has been suggested before.
