It's quite small emerging from = shallow water at lakes edge. Seemed to be rooted in submerged needles = from surrounding pine trees.=20 It had a white stalk (reminiscent of bean sprouts), and a bright yellow = tip. The feel almost reminded me of a saprophyte. I'd estimate each = plant was 6-8 centimetres tall.=20 I can't ever remember seeing anything like it. I'm not even sure what = I'm looking at. Is it part of a flower or some type of fungus.=20 Below are links to photos of the plant(?).=20 Ian http://i.imgur.com/32Pe2XM.jpg ------=_NextPart_000_009B_01CF7524.FC977310 Content-Type: text/html; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <HTML><HEAD> <META content=3D"text/html; charset=3Dutf-8" = http-equiv=3Dcontent-type></HEAD> <BODY dir=3Dltr> <DIV dir=3Dltr> <DIV style=3D"FONT-SIZE: 12pt; FONT-FAMILY: 'Calibri'; COLOR: #000000"> <DIV>metrula palidosa. swamp beacon.
