Today I spent the day up in the mountains of Antigonish and Pictou
Counties. The hardwood trees are just budding out so the woods are very
open and bright. We were in the Browns mountain area and the Blood root
were perfect and plentiful. Higher up the mountain the Spring Beauty,
Dutchman's breeches and trout lily were all in bloom and the most that I had
ever experienced. Areas of the woods were carpeted with Spring beauty
flowers. The time to see these wild flowers is so short. It seems they come
into bloom and two weeks later there is hardly a sign they were there.
It felt great to be out doors amongst all that natural beauty.
