One of our Lunenburg Library patrons managed to get seeds of the Pyrethrum Chrysanthemum and grew them. She brews a tea with the leaves or flowers(?) which they use to coat their skin before heading out to garden or tend their beehives. I don't know how effective this option is but it is certainly a safer one.
