Index of Subjects
Index of Subjects Thanks for answering, Ken. I missed the hedge. Another term to put in the mix. Normally I see them far enough apart that I would consider them to be solitary. Yes, PEi seems to have many of them within eyesight at one location, especially at North River Causeway. I used to live not far from there. That is where I heard the term "congress" used. Oh and "senate".........(pre Duffy days, of course). I saw a loose group of five last year at the mud flats there as you go into central Port Mouton. Very unusual I thought, and they seemed to be tuned into each other. Some years I have seen a number scattered along the creeks at Port Joli at Goose Haven. I am thinking I will set the painting roughly over there but I have to come up with a title to register the entry and I was wondering if there was a local term I should use. ................................ Wiki also mentions a "hedge" Marg. in my limited experience, herons tend to be fairly solitary, so maybe don't want to be labelled! :-) I've seen many as you describe in PEI but they didn't appear to act as a "flock. The exception would be when they roost for the night. Ken MacAulay Port Mouton, NS http://MargMillard.ca
