A few highlights from a hike at Blomidon Provincial Park, 27 April 2014.
Nothing too exceptional to note, but lots of spring-firsts, and one new
personal observation.

1 Turkey Vulture (1st I've seen in Kings Co) riding on a thermal south of
park check-in office (http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S18113821)

5 spring beauties in flower (Claytonia caroliniana)

Large patches of wild leek (Allumim tricoccum)

2 well-developed purple trillium (Trillium erectum).

It's worth noting that the "Fairy Shrimp Pond" (Does anyone know if this
pond has a name?) was very very high. The water was well over much of the
surrounding path.

Cheers,
IM
