hi folks,

We had about 20 (?) enthusiastic people show up for the Clean Across Nova
Scotia event this morning. The clean up focused on tributaries of the
Elderkin Brook that runs through the Kentville Ravine. This was a joint
effort between the Eco Kings Action Team, Friends of the Kentville Ravine
Society and the Blomidon Naturalists Society and we were joined by others
as well.

We gathered a huge pile of disgusting stuff...I'm not sure what others
found, but our group's finds included:

- 4 roadkill racoons
- glass 'Pepsi-cola' bottles ("the Maritimes' #1 cola")
- Hostess chip bags from the 80's
- one sink
- election campaign signs
- every type of alcohol bottle except a Texas Mickey
- but all was outweighed by Tim Horton's cups

Thanks to Ed Sulis, Janet Whitman and Marina Myra for taking care of
logistics, and Ken Harrison for the donation of supplies for the effort.

Thanks so much everyone for your efforts (especially in steep ravine
terrain) and hope to join forces more in near future :)

cheers,
James.
