However, yesterday I saw 2 Canada Geese at East Point, North Grand Pre. Today I saw about 110 flying in two flocks over Greenfield (well inland) flying S to N, "obviously" coming over from the South Shore. These are early migrants in my books. Also today, at the swamp/stream near Little Lake, Greenfield, I saw a male Kingfisher above some open water. I realize a few Kingfishers over-winter in NS but, again, you do not see a Kingfisher at this forest swamp in winter as it is frozen solid & covered in 1-3 ft of snow. We survived for another spring.
