Ten years ago, siskins were a winter regular down here on Wyman Road.
Haven't seen one here for three or four years.

One more species, I fear, to join Canada jays, evening grosbeaks, boreal
chickadees, purple finches, house sparrows .

Gee, when I was really young, even pine grosbeaks ere not unusual!

And cardinals and turkey vultures are normal visitors down here.

The times, they are a changin'.

Subject: [NatureNS] Pine Siskins

I received an email today from John Glanville of Petite Riviere letting me
know that seven pine siskins had arrived from nowhere. I personally have
not seen a pine siskin myself all winter with a lot of birding. Hopefully
they will hang in that area until the weekend.
