Today was the highest tide of the year, and at high tide (12:04 in Westport) was pretty spectacular. Birding highlights were 13 Brant near Peter's Island, 3 Razorbills off N.Point and 2 T.Vultures over Lighthouse Rd. (giving me a personal 100 for my winter list). The usual sea ducks, loons and Horned grebes were around the coast in good numbers, but the woods were empty, there were no raptors, shorebirds, or flocks of alcids, gannets, kittiwakes or other pelagics flying by.
