While walking around our local cove yesterday I noticed amongst the more
usual Mallards/black ducks/Canada geese a couple of dovekies - which are
quite frequent annual winter visitors to the cove - but I was most
surprised to see three active little chicks in tow, with charcoal-ish
coloured downy looking feathers. Is this normal for this time of year?
What are their chances of survival?
