   This morning, before the rain picked up, two of us observed a pair =
of very tame beavers, in the open water of Cranberry Lake just =
downstream of the BLT Rail Trail near the parking lot for The Bluff =
Hiking Trail. They are habituated to traffic noises, as their lodge is =
located right next to the busy Highway 103, and to people using the rail =
trail.=20
   They let us approach to within 30 feet and we had a great opportunity =
to observe them both on land and in the water. Once in a while they got =
skittish and swam off, only to return to their birch log ashore. This =
may be of interest to nature photographers and/or videographers.
