During scouting for tomorrow's Christmas Count - which may be cancelled bec=
ause of Arctic conditions - I found a male Red-bellied Woodpecker at a West=
port feeder.
The island was not birdless, but birding was very difficult in gale-force w=
inds, blowing snow, and very low temperatures.
