Interesting question. Definitely "pigeon", except when jokingly trying to f=
ancy up a lackluster birdlist with "Rock Dove".

But I hadn't thought of Randy's point. E.g., I wonder what zoologists in th=
e range of Band-tailed Pigeons would say.
