HFN Monthly Meeting: The Florida Birding Trail Wendy and Bob McDonald decided to escape to warmer climes in early April and a trip to Florida seemed appropriate. Their first week was spent in the company of a trip leader who was familiar with special birds and their habitats–from a woodland trail in a swamp to downtown Fort Lauderdale! On their own for the last week, Wendy and Bob explored famous Sanibel Island and then Fort Myers, close to Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary. Images of some of the special birds and other creatures encountered will be presented. The new venue for our meeting, arranged by the NS Museum of Natural History, is the NOVA SCOTIA ART GALLERY in downtown Halifax. We are to enter the building using the Bedford Row entrance. Our meeting time is the usual 7:30 p.m., with the door being opened from 7 o'clock.
