--089e01419acc974f0f04ea5f3a20 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Hi all, Bird Studies Canada and Nature Conservancy of Canada invite you to join us for the 5th Annual "Wild for Waterfowl" count in the Port Joli area. We need a team to count coastal waterbirds from Port Mouton Bay to Sable River within the South Shore (Port Joli Sector) Important Bird Area and Migratory Bird Sanctuaries! Date: Sunday, November 24 (Alternate foul weather date to be Saturday, November 23) Time: 10:00 AM - 3:30 PM Lunch will be provided to registered participants (see below for info about registration). Nature Conservancy of Canada, Bird Studies Canada, and the Harrison Lewis Centre are holding the 5th Annual Wild for Waterfowl event within the Port Joli Important Bird Area (IBA) to survey waterfowl, other waterbirds and coastal habitats within the IBA and and Migratory Bird Sanctuaries. This event has grown each year and is always a fun day for beginner and expert 'waterfowlers' to come together and learn about different coastal birds and habitats, and contribute to monitoring and collaborative conservation efforts in the region. All data from the count will be accessible to the public through eBird.ca and shared with Canadian Wildlife Service's Migratory Bird Sanctuary managers and the Canadian IBA Program (www.ibacanada.ca). Anyone with an interest in coastal birds is welcome, including beginner birders and families. Prior to the count, at the Harrison Lewis Centre, we will provide an overview of common bird species, instructions, and the IBA boundaries. Each group will be accompanied by at least one experienced birder to assist with identification and documenting observations. Binoculars and spotting scopes available if needed. To register as a participant please fill out your name and info at NCC's Conservation Volunteer site: http://e-activist.com/ea-action/action?ea.client.id=1803&ea.campaign.id=22165 For more information about the event, please contact: Sue Abbott, Bird Studies Canada: 902-222-2880; nsplovers@gmail.com or sabbott@birdscanada.org OR Doug van Hemessen, Nature Conservancy of Canada: 902-405-4334 ext 3301<%28902%29%20480-3608> ; doug.vanHemessen@natureconservancy.ca Thanks, Sue Abbott Bird Studies Canada - Nova Scotia --089e01419acc974f0f04ea5f3a20 Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <div dir=3D"ltr">

Hi all,

Bird Studies Canada and Nat= ure Conservancy of Canada invite you to join us for the 5th An= nual "Wild for <span class=3D"">Waterfowl" count in the Port Joli= area. =A0<span class=3D""> We need a team to count coastal w= aterbirds from Port=20 Mouton=A0Bay to Sable River within the South Shore (Port Joli Sector)=20 Important Bird Area and Migratory Bird Sanctuaries!

Date: Sun= day, November 24 (Alternate foul weather date to be Saturday, November 23)
T= ime: 10:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Lunch will be provided to registered parti= cipants (see below for info about registration).
<sp= an>
Nature Conservancy of Canada, Bird Studies Canada, and the Harrison=20 Lewis Centre are holding the 5th Annual Wild for <span class=3D"">Waterfowl= event within=20 the Port Joli Important Bird Area (IBA) to survey <span class=3D"">waterfow= l, other=20 waterbirds and coastal habitats within the IBA and and Migratory Bird= Sanctuaries. This event has grown each year and is always a = fun day for beginner and expert 'waterfowlers' to come together and= learn about different coastal birds and habitats, and contribute to=20 monitoring and collaborative conservation efforts in the region.=A0 All dat= a=20 from<span class=3D""> the count will be accessible to the public thr= ough eBird.ca and shared with Canadian Wildlife Service's <span class= =3D"">Migratory Bird Sanctuary managers and the Canadian IBA Program= (www.ibacanada.ca).

Anyone=A0with an interest in coastal birds is welcome, including=20 beginner birders and families.=A0Prior to the <span class=3D"">count= , at the Harrison Lewis Centre, we will provide an=20 overview of common bird species, instructions, and the IBA boundaries.
