Hi Nancy:

I saw much the same thing yesterday where the two grasshoppers were laying =
side by side. In fact I thought they were dead!! However when I nudged them=
 they jumped to another area. I did not follow them so I don't know what ha=
ppened. Grasshoppers mate in the usual above/below position so supposedly t=
hey were fighting but why at this late date??

Incidentally your grasshoppers were Two-striped Grasshoppers. The species i=
s found throughout the Maritimes & also in southern Nfld.
