<div>&gt; perennial garde
Hi Fred

My suspicion is that in these cases - partially shaded gardens in S end of Halifax, a gleaning-like feeding habit on surfaces of delicate leaves would produce similar results. Several gardeners reported considerable defoliation, in addition to compost dwelling habit. It was two of these individuals who also found eggs in their compost piles. Dr Derek Davis had initially thought that overwintering was probably in greenhouses.

That just goes to show that most animals can't read and don't know what we know about them

A

* but it's my understanding that they're compost pile specialists, and
don't eat much living material.
